Barbara has confirmed that work is almost complete on her new studio album, due for release later this year.

Barbara is currently putting the finishing touches to a new studio album for release later this year. The final recording sessions were due to take place this summer, but Barbara says that she hopes that these can now be brought forward.

Provisionally entitled 'Time Is Going Faster', the album will include new tracks, reworkings of the classics "Tell Me It's Not True" and Mike Batt's "Run Like The Wind", and songs from Barbara's 'Shirt Box', collected from throughout her career, which she has always wanted to record.

All ten tracks were initially recorded at Kevock Digital last summer with Nick Holland and engineer Ian McCalman.

"The basic tracks were put down last June," Barbara says. "There are two new songs written by me - "Where Shadows Meet the Light", which we performed on my last tour, and "Time is Going Faster". There are also some other songs that nobody’s heard me do yet".
"We've had a couple of delays but I'm hoping that the album will now be out at the end of this year, leading into our next full band tour early in 2021 - I should have all the dates for that soon!"
