1980 - Released in January, "The Caravan Song" provides her third UK hit, reaching # 41
It is eclipsed by "January February" which Epic rush-release in early March.
The new single reaches # 11 on the charts.
The album, "The Barbara Dickson Album" debuts in April, reaches # 7 and goes gold.
The "In The Night" single, released in June gives Barbara her first self-penned hit.
Barbara performs at the Castlebar Song Contest in Ireland.
Between August and December she plays a 40 date UK tour including the Royal Albert Hall.
1981 - In February Barbara plays 2 nights at the Royal Albert Hall with Ray Charles
In May the album "You Know It's Me" is released.
During May Barbara plays a one-off date at London's Duke Of York's Theatre.
A second series of "The Two Ronnies" is recorded for BBC TV.
July and August sees Barbara on a 37 date UK tour.
She then flies to the USA and on to Holland to begin work on a new album with Mike Batt.
1982 - The album, "All For A Song" is released in February and goes platinum.
Between May and July Barbara embarks on a sell-out 31 date UK tour.
The show is recorded and released as a live album, "Here We Go".
October and November see Barbara once again on the road for a further 30 shows.
1983 - In January Barbara stars in the premiere of Willy Russell's new musical, "Blood Brothers" at the Liverpool Playhouse.
In April the show transfers to London's Lyric Theatre.
The cast album of "Blood Brothers" and a mini-album of the show are both released.
Barbara records a TV special for the BBC about singer Gracie Fields.
"Blood Brothers" wins Barbara the Society of West End Theatres award for Best Actress in a Musical.
1984 - In January, Barbara performs two weeks of concerts at
the Liverpool Playhouse.
"This Is Barbara Dickson", a series of 30 minute shows are recorded for BBC Scotland.
Barbara's last album for Epic,"Heartbeats", is released in June and reaches UK # 21
Between May and October Barbara tours the UK.
Barbara presents the series "The Afternoon Show" for BBC Scotland alongside Penny Junor. She also films "Awayday" in which she travels Scotland by train for the same channel.
In August Barbara marries husband Oliver.
She flies to Stockholm to record 2 tracks for the studio album of "Chess".
