DUNFERMLINE - CARNEGIE HALL - 01.06.77
(Dunfermline Press - 3rd June, 1977)

Barbara Dickson, who hit the big time three years ago, hit Dunfermline on Wednesday.

With two fund-raising concerts in Carnegie Hall, the Dunfermline-born singer made her first appearance in her home town as an internationally-renowned star.

"It's good to be back," she told the 1000 people who packed the Hall. For most, it was their first opportunity to see Barbara Dickson "live." They will regret what they have missed in the past.

For Barbara returned to Dunfermline with a bang, staging two shows they will be talking about for years to come.

There were around 400 people at the first performance. The Hall was packed for the second. Barbara gave them all she
could - a repertoire more varied than most people would have imagined, complete with the numbers that made her a star.

She gave them "Answer Me," "People Get Ready," and "Another Suitcase In Another Hall" and they cried for more.

"That was lovely," she said in her dressing room, between the two shows. "The audience was so good." And then an understatement. "I think they liked me."

The show realised profits of around £450, all of which will go to Dunfermline Sports Centre Development Fund, money from which will go towards refurbishing the Carnegie Sports Centre.
"It is a good cause," said Barbara. " I was glad to help out."
