BIRMINGHAM TOWN HALL - 27.02.08
(Birmingham Mail - 3rd March, 2008)

Some things undoubtedly mature and get better with age. And that is clearly the case with the enduring quality of Barbara Dickson.

Her distinctive pure vocals remain as satisfyingly faultless as ever, ensuring that her outstanding five-piece band complemented rather than competed with her.

And when you perform a range of songs including The Beatles, Bob Dylan and The Byrds, you know you're in for a treat.

Barbara, with a splendid new album -Time & Tide - to her name, succumbed to her Celtic Scottish roots with the delightful Dream Angus and Lowlands of Holland, both from the new release.

Her recent collection of Lennon, McCartney and Harrison songs offered up the likes of Here Comes The Sun and Across The Universe.

And Barbara also delved into her stage musicals background to include Easy Terms from Blood Brothers, Another Suitcase in Another Hall (Evita) and the show-stopping I Know Him So Well from Chess
