SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND (1978)
Barbara has a small walk-on role (credited as "Our Guest at Heartland") in the Beatles-inspired movie, alongside stars Peter Frampton, The Bee Gees and a who's who of popular music including Etta James, Curtis Mayfield, Robert Palmer, Bonnie Raitt and Tina Turner. The film has been released commercially on video and DVD.
REDEMPTION ROAD (2001)
A British comedy-drama movie directed by Lloyd Stanton and co-written by the director alongside actors Tony Bluto, Ken Sharrock and Stephen Marcus. Bluto, Sharrock and Marcus star and Barbara is featured in a cameo role as 'The Hippy Woman'!. Co-stars included Pauline Quirke, Annette Badland and Rowland Rivron. The film ran into distribution problems and is still awaiting release..
DINNER LADIES (1997 : BBC RADIO 4)
A six-part comedy for BBC Radio 4, written by directed by Turan Ali. Barbara starred as Bev alongside Liz Smith, Jean Heywood and Brigit Forsyth playing one of a group of school dinner ladies who decide to bid for the contract themselves when they learn that catering at the school is going out to tender.
WHENEVER (2006 : BBC RADIO 4)
Alan Ayckbourn's children's musical fantasy was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on Saturday 26th August 2006 and starred Barbara in the roles of Mrs Binns, Mrs Green, Guest at Party 3 and The Time Keeper. Barbara sings one song, 'The End Of Time'.
The story tells of Emily, a child whose attempts to escape violence and mistreatment force her to hide in a time travel machine. Desperate to escape, Emily finds herself hurtling through time, from the late 1880’s to World War II to the future and ultimately to the end of time.
Directed by Bruce Hyman - Barbara's co-stars included Sarah Manton, Roger Allam, Sakia Reeves, Liza Sadovy, Nigel Williams and Tony Timberlake.
