Barbara will be returning to Ireland in October for a series of live dates along with her keyboard player and accompanist Nick Holland, with support from Irish singer Anthony Toner.
"I love the country and its people," Barbara says. "I played in Ireland many times during the late 60's and early 70's when I was a travelling folk singer and later, during my 'pop' years, I used to come over during the Troubles. That stopped in the late 80's and I'm still not quite sure why, but there was a long, long break until 2014 when the promoter David Hull, a lovely man, arranged a small tour for me which did very well.
"I've been over every year since and this year we'll be doing a small tour with five dates at present, including Belfast and Dublin, but we're expecting to add a few more. I just find the Irish audiences wonderful and really receptive to the music we do these days. It will be quite acoustic with a mix of more recent material as well as the old hits - I would be lynched if I didn't do those!"
