Barbara was awarded an honorary masters degree by the University of Lincoln.

Barbara was named Best Actress In Theatre at the Liverpool Echo Arts & Entertainment Awards for her role in 'The 7 Ages of Woman'.

Barbara was named 'Scot Of The Year' by readers of the 'Daily Record' newspaper.


1984: SOCIETY OF WEST END THEATRE AWARDS - BEST ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL

Barbara won The Society Of West End Theatres Award (now renamed the Laurence Olivier Awards) in 1984 for Best Actress in a Musical for her role as Mrs. Johnstone in Willy Russell's musical 'Blood Brothers'.

Barbara was named 'Best Female Singer' in the Scotstar Awards 1977, voted for by record companies and dealers.


1976: BEST NEW SINGER

In 1976 Barbara was voted 'Best New Singer' by readers of 'The Sun' newspaper.

Barbara was honoured with the Sir Reo Stakis Pride of Scotland lifetime achievement Award at the annual Scottish Tartan Clef Awards.


2012: HONORARY DOCTOR OF MUSIC

In 2012, Barbara was invested with a Doctorate of Music (honoris causa) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.


2010: HONORARY DOCTOR OF MUSIC

In 2010 Barbara was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Music degree from Aberdeen's Robert Gordon University.
