Barbara won The Society Of West End Theatres (now renamed the Olivier Awards) Award in 1984 for Best Actress In A Musical for her role as Mrs. Johnstone in Willy Russell's musical 'Blood Brothers'.

In 1997 Barbara was named Best Actress In Theatre at the Liverpool Echo Arts & Entertainment Awards for her role in 'The 7 Ages of Woman'.

Barbara earned the award for Best Actress In A Musical for her role as Viv Nicholson in 'Spend Spend Spend' at the 48th Variety Club Of Great Britain Showbusiness Awards in 2000.

And Drama".
2003 : Barbara was made a Companion of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) by Sir Paul McCartney
2005 : Barbara received an Honorary Fellowship from Liverpool's John Moores University for services to music and the dramatic arts.
