Article from the Sunday Mail newspaper from August 2001.
Scots singing star Barbara Dickson will meet foul-mouthed rapper Eminem backstage at the Gig on the Green in Glasgow next weekend.
And the Sunday Mail is responsible for bringing the unlikely double act together.
Two weeks ago we revealed that Dunfermline-born Barbara, 53, was Eminem's No.1 fan, hailing him "the new Bob Dylan". Now we can reveal the admiration is mutual.
The chainsaw-wielding star wants to feature Barbara's 1980s hit Caravan Song on his new album.
Middle-of-the-road singer-turned-actress Barbara, who is in Canada, said: "I think it's fantastic. I'm flattered."
And Ms Dickson has good reason to be chuffed about her new admirer.
When Eminem, 27, sampled Dido track Thank You in his No.1 single Stan, the publicity worked wonders for sales of the previously unknown singer's album.
Barbara first tuned into the Grammy-winning star - real name Marshall Mathers III - when her eldest son Colm started playing his albums. Now Gig on the Green organisers hope the two stars will soon meet.
Spokeswoman Fiona Hutcheson said: "She can come as our special guest.
"Who knows, they might end up performing on stage together at next year's event."
Next month, Barbara will appear in the musical Spend Spend Spend at the King's Theatre, Glasgow.
