Article from 'The Scotsman' newspaper (26 September 2003) about Barbara's role in the musical "Fame".

REMEMBER MY FAME

Barbara Dickson is a musical performer who has worked her way to the top the hard way, so she might be forgiven for feeling that Noel Sullivan, her co-star in the forthcoming musical Fame, has had an easy time of it.

Ironically enough, Sullivan made his way through the now-defunct outfit Hear'say, but Dickson was most diplomatic about the changing nature of the music industry at a lunch at Howies restaurant in Waterloo Place, Edinburgh.

"All my children are musical," said Babs. "My youngest wants to be a drummer, though I'm pleased to say that none of them want to be famous for the sake of it, which everyone wants, given how popular programmes like Fame Academy are. The show reflects the snakes and ladders of singing."

"I auditioned for Popstars four years ago and have no regrets," added Sullivan, who plays the role of a singer burdened by success.
